COLONIE – Charles "George" Racicot, 82, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital, Troy. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Rosario and Juliette (Daly) Racicot.

George, known to many as "Frenchy" or "Crazy George", was the owner and operator of Jay Street Body Works for around 60 years. He was a drummer and performed with his band, The Ravens, for decades. George was a tinkerer and enjoyed fixing things. He found pleasure in having good, long conversations with friends and family.

George will be missed by his wife of 62 years, Camille (Casella) Racicot; children Donna D'Ambrosio, Dennis J. Racicot, and John A. Parravani, and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Friday at 11:30 am at Calvary Cemetery, 481 Rt. 9W, Glenmont. Memorial contributions may be made to Fender Music Foundation, PO Box 67, Agoura Hills, CA 91376 or online at www.fendermusicfoundation.org in George's name.
