Colonie- Charles D. Galusha, 71, passed away on January 24, 2022. Charles was the son of the late Charles E. and Gertrude Galusha.
Charles was a lifelong resident of Colonie. He graduated Colonie High School where he was a member of both the baseball and football teams.
After graduating high school, Charles enlisted in the National Guard in 1970. He rose to the rank of Sergeant Major in the US Army and retired in 2005 after 35 years of service. Charles enjoyed his time at the Bowlers Club and OTB. He loved sports and took pride in watching his sons excel on the field.
Charles is survived by his sons, Charles J. Galusha (Jaime) of Rotterdam and Nicholas Galusha (Dana) of Altamont; his former spouse, Janet Galusha of Rotterdam; and his grandchildren, Joseph, Angelina, Grayson, Nico, and Kingston Galusha.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, New York on Wednesday February 2, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A graveside service will be held Thursday February 3, 2022 at 10:00 am at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871.
