It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of JC Glindmyer, a beloved husband, father, friend, and small business owner. JC owned and operated Earthworld Comics on Central Avenue in Albany, NY for over 35 years and was an integral part of the comic book and local community. He passed away at the age of 65 of a cardiac arrest on 5/8/2023, surrounded by his family.
JC resided in Voorheesville, NY with his wife and dogs. He was born in Hawaii on May 19, 1957, and is predeceased by his mother Diana May Jerrold Zapotocki, and father Charles John Glindmyer. He is survived by the love of his life and wife, Laura Lee Goodman Glindmyer. He is also survived by his 3 children Nicholas Glindmyer (Alexis), Jordan Glindmyer Yanatos (Paul), and Taylor (Jenna) Glindmyer, as well as 4 beautiful grandchildren that he was so proud of. And his beloved bulldogs Bluto & Olive Oyl.
JC was a true Superhero in his own right, providing a safe space for comic book enthusiasts of all ages to come together and share their love for the art form. Earthworld Comics is more than just a business, it is a community hub where people of all backgrounds connect over their favorite comic book characters, artists and storylines.
Despite the challenges of being a small business owner, JC never lost his passion for the comic book industry. He loved nothing more than sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm with others, and his dedication to his customers was unwavering. But JC was more than just a comic book store owner, he was a pillar of the community. He was known for his generous heart, quick wit, his willingness to help anyone in need, and was always looking for ways to give back to his community.

The family invites the community for a Celebration of Life at one of JC's favorite local businesses: McGeary's Irish Pub at 4 Clinton Square in Albany on Sunday, May 21st between the hours of 2 and 5 pm.
