LOUODNVILLE- Charles "Chic" R. Heinbach, 73, of Loudonville, passed away on Saturday April 15, 2006 at the Inn of Community Hospice after a brief illness. He was born in Philadelphia, PA and was the son of the late Charles and Regina Duffy Heinbach Sr.
Chic was in the US Navy from 1952 through 1956 and had served as a radarman on the USS Brough DE 148. He was regional manger for Wohl Shoe Company through the northeast and more recently worked for twenty years as Supervisor at New York State Dept of Taxation & Finance, retiring in 2000. He was currently working as a ranger at the Town of Colonie Golf Course. Chic was a former league officer and manager at Latham Little League, a longtime Siena College basket ball fan and an avid golfer.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Norma Wieder Heinbach; his four children, Charles R. (Mary Ann) Heinbach III, Joseph "Chip" (Barbara-Jean) Heinbach, Scott (Tami) Heinbach and Kimberly (Andrew) Cohen. He is the brother of Joseph A. Heinbach and the late Ruth Ann Pompetti and Marie Rourke. He is the cherished grandfather of CJ, Katrina, Chelsea, Christopher, Liana, Courtney and Joshua Heinbach, Brittany and Ashley Cohen. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Thursday morning at 10:15 at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave) then to St. Francis De Sales Church, Maria Drive at 11:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory s Garden.
