Charles Frederick Hood

Albany

Albany- Charles "Chuckie" Frederick Hood, 75 passed on October 12, 2024. Son of the late Clarence C. Hood and Dorothy M. Hood. 

Survived by his wife Donna (Medick) Hood, daughters Amy Hood (Avery), and Laura Hadsell (Chris), his step grandchildren, Kaya and Fox, and his grand-dog Charlie. Also survived by Sisters in Law: Nancy (Mark) Armstrong and Marybeth (Steven) Ribet, Marie Medick and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. 

Chuckie received a biology degree from SUNY Albany where he was an active member of the Protect Your Environment club. He was a helicopter crew chief with the Army National Guard and had a long career between Adirondack Steel and G.E. Selkirk.

Chuckie loved being in nature and taught his daughters to appreciate the wilderness. He enjoyed fine food and drinks, spending time with friends and family, traveling, Lake Placid vacations, and visiting Italy.

Calling hours will be held Friday, November 1, 2024, 4pm to 7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd.Colonie, NY 12205.

Celebration of Life will be held Saturday November 2, 2024, 12pm to 3pm at The Italian American Community Center, 257 Washington Avenue Ext., Albany NY 12205.
