Voorheesville- Charles Joseph Catalfamo, Sr., 74, died on Friday, April 29, 2005 at Albany Memorial Hospital. Born in Bafia, Cicily he was the son of the late Fortunato Travato and Domenica Catalfamo. At age two Charles immigrated to the United States with his family. He went on to work as a Mason/ Bricklayer for the Local #2 in Albany for just over fifty years. In his free time Charles enjoyed bowling, traveling, and gambling. He is predeceased by his brother Dominic Catalfamo.
Charles is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years Hilda Catalfamo of Voorheesville, and his five children; Charles J. Catalfamo, Jr. of Voorheesville, Trina M. Collins and her husband Joseph of Voorheesville, John J. Catalfamo and his wife Karen of Guilderland, James J. Catalfamo of Schenectady, and Gail Bardwell of Scotia. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; Karen, Tara, Diana, Robyn, Jessica, Joshua, Julia, and Cody, his two sisters; Carmella Leonard, and Mary Wickham, and many nieces, nephews, cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie.
