Charles W Janosik, age 98, husband of the late Evelyn M. Behrens-Janosik of Summit, New York, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Shaker Place Residential Facility.
Born September 4, 1925, in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Charles W and Margaret Rigely- Janosik.
Charles Janosik attended school in Brooklyn, New York and then served in the US Marine Corps during World War II. He was self- employed as a dairy farmer for 40+ years. Charles had a huge heart especially for his animals, and he could often be found tending to them or just enjoying their company. .
He is survived by daughters Sandra L. Greene and her husband Ray of Slingerlands, New York and Theresa Commisso and her husband Rocco of Altamont, New York; four granddaughters, Shannon Greene of Voorheesville, Christine Bornt (Jeremy) of Johnstown, Jennifer Dixon (Walter) of Delanson, and Maria Huges (Scott) of Delanson; six grandsons Shawn Greene of Slingerlands, Dennis Janosik of Guilderland, Shea Greene of Slingerlands, Nicholas Janosik of Duanesburg, James Commisso (Lena) of Schenectady, and Michael Commisso of Altamont; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Evelyn, he was predeceased by his son, Charles W Janosik Jr. and daughter-in-law, Alice Tobin.
At the request of the family, services will be private. Charles will be laid to rest at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Memorial Hospital.
