SCHENECTADY - Charles Edward Jurewicz, 84, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Ellis Hospital with his daughter, Diane, by his side. He was born on April 7, 1933, and was the son of the late Charles John and Sally Veronica (Bylicki) Jurewicz.
Chuck enjoyed spending time with family, friends and especially his grand and great grandchildren. He loved spending time at the family home in Safety Harbor, Florida and traveling. He was a GE Elfun Society Computer Rehab Program volunteer. He served his country proudly in the US Army.
Chuck was the loving husband of 60 years to his late wife, Carol K. Jurewicz, who passed away on March 8, 2017. He is survived by his daughters, Susan (Robert) Fischer and Diane (Mark) Ferrara; grandchildren, Kristopher (Tina) Ferrara, Jacqueline (Thomas) Neville, Robert (Melissa) Fischer, Valarie (Jared) Lewis, Kelly Fischer, Anthony (Marisa) Ferrara; great granddaughters, Zoey, Kristina, Lauren Grace Ferrara and Aoife Neville; siblings, Thomas Jurewicz and Sallyann Stibinger and several cousins.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Ellis Hospital's E and C units and Kingsway Manor Assisted Living.
A calling hour will be held on Monday, July 3, 2017 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at St. Madeline Sophie Church, 3500 Carman Rd, Schenectady. A Memorial Mass will immediately follow at 11:30 a.m. Inurnment will follow the Mass at Schenectady Memorial Park Cemetery, Rotterdam.
