SELKIRK-Charles L. Berns, 64, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 25, 2016.
Chuck was born in Buffalo, NY on June 14, 1952 to the late Theodore and Carmelina Berns. He graduated from The Albany Academy, received a BA in anthropology and sociology from Denison University and a Masters in Education from Russell Sage College. Chuck loved history, doing Civil War Reenactments, and the clients that he taught and coached at The Center for Disability Services. He is survived by his wife Nancy (Studebaker) Berns, his sister, Mary Ellen (Berns) Manzella and her husband, Pat Manzella.
Calling hours are from 12pm - 1pm on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY. 12205. Burial will follow at Albany Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The American Heart Association.
