Charles "Cliff" Ogniewski, 67, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 with his loving family by his side.
Cliff was the son of the late Charles and Frances Ogniewski. He grew up in Loudonville, where he continued to build a fulfilling life for himself before moving to Clifton Park. He was the devoted husband of over 47 years to Linda Ann (Farrigan) Ogniewski, and took great pride in his love and care for his wife. Cliff was a true family man. He found pleasure in the simple things in life such as grilling food for his family, sitting around a fire or listening to good tunes on the front porch. Cliff had a heart of gold and simply being around his adoring family brought him all of the happiness he needed.
Cliff was a communicant of St. Pius X Church. He had an appreciation of his Polish heritage and enjoyed Polish foods. He cherished his time coaching Little League for his son, Todd, through the West Albany Little League program. He was an avid Yankee fan and enjoyed hearing about and seeing all of his grandkid's sports endeavors. He loved to vacation in Ogunquit, Maine and Lake George, and also took many memorable cruises with his wife and extended family. Cliff's favorite activities included going to the Saratoga Gaming and Raceway, and the Saratoga Race Track. He sure knew how to bet the ponies and also loved his scratch off tickets. He also had an extensive coin collection, had a real interest in US History, and enjoyed fishing and camping.
Cliff was a graduate of Shaker High School, and continued on with some college coursework through Hudson Valley Community College. He then became a dedicated employee of Albany Memorial Hospital for 45 years, where he continued his learning and training and provided compassionate care in Nuclear Medicine. He made many memorable and lasting friendships throughout his time at Memorial Hospital.
Cliff is survived by his wife Linda Ann Ogniewski; children Frances (Nathaniel) Kaminski, and Todd (Michele) Ogniewski; grandchildren Kara, Ethan, Evan, Hailey, Derek and Alayna; second mother "Maddie" Madeline Ogniewski; siblings Charlene Ogniewski-Uhl (Mike Conlon), Keith (Amy) Ogniewski, Richard (Toni) Ogniewski; Deborah (Victor) Graves, and Kimberly (Dominic) Solino. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews and close family and friends.
