Charles R. Schneider

DELMAR, NY – Charles R. "Skip" Schneider, 76, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 09, 2010. He was born and raised in Albany and was the son of the late Leonard and Emma Schneider. Mr. Schneider lived in Albany for most of his life, before moving to Delmar. Skip was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the local Teamsters and a truck driver for Albany Hardware & Iron, U.S. Plywood and Georgia Pacific before his retirement. Skip was an avid N.Y. Yankees fan, enjoyed gardening and was a talented craftsman. He was a past member of the Elks Lodge #2233 in Bethlehem. Skip is the beloved husband of Rita A. Schneider. He is the father of Scott Schneider and his wife, Sherry, Joann Lasch and her husband, John, Russ Schneider and Patricia Agan. He is the cherished grandfather of John Jr., Ryan, Alyssa, Taylor, Spencer and Kristin. Also surviving are his great-grandchildren, Hayden, Brianna and Spencer.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Saturday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
