GUILDERLAND – Charles R. "Chuck" Tomajer, 86, passed away on Tuesday, September 04, 2012. Born in Jefferson, NY he was the son of the late John and Molly Tomajer. He served in the Army Air Corp on B25's as a tail gunner and radio man during World War II. Chuck earned an Associate's Degree in Business from Albany Business College. He worked at Eastern Refrigeration Company and as an independent business owner of various tool companies. Chuck enjoyed spending time with his family, visiting Lake George, vacationing in Florida and golfing.
In addition to his parents, Chuck was predeceased by his beloved wife of fifty-five years, Doris "Mickey" Tomajer, his brother, William Tomajer, his sister-in-law, Jean Adams and brother-in-law, Larry Callahan. Chuck is survived by his devoted children, Colleen Abbate, Tim Tomajer and Tracey Tomajer. He is the cherished grandfather of Meghan and Michael Abbate. Also surviving is his brother-in-law, Jim (Betty) Callahan and his sister-in-law, Delores Callahan as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 15th at 11:00 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). A calling hour will precede the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in St. Mary's Cemetery, Amsterdam.
