Colonie – Charles Donald "Don" Rafferty, 78, passed away on March 9, 2014 after a brief illness. Born in Albany on September 14, 1935 he is the son of the late Charles F. Rafferty and Sally Waters Rafferty.
Charles moved to Colonie in 1963, with his wife Anita, to raise their family. He was an avid golfer, and was a patron of The Colonie Elks # 2192 and The American Legion Post # 1610.
Charles was predeceased by his beloved wife Anita Lederman Rafferty, and their eldest son Michael P. Rafferty. He was also predeceased by his sisters Janet Rafferty and Sally Hausher.
Charles is survived by his sons; Erick T. (Kelly) Rafferty of Gansevoort, Andrew D. (Kimberly) Rafferty of Rotterdam, and Terrence J. (Michelle) Rafferty of Colonie. He is also survived by his three cherished grandchildren; Erin M. Rafferty, Emma A. Rafferty, and Declan J. Rafferty.
