SCHENECTADY- Charles A. Randall, 65, of Schenectady, died Saturday November 18, 2006 in Springfield, Vermont. He was born in Glens Falls and is the beloved son of Fred Randall of Schenectady and the late Gertrude Johnson.
He served in the Army National Guard from 1963 through 1969. Chuck was a machinist with the General Electric Company in Schenectady for many years. He was very active in the Mont Pleasant Action Coalition and volunteered countless hours in neighborhood activities and cleanups to improve the quality of life in Mont Pleasant.
He was recognized by the City of Schenectady for his lifetime of community service. Mayor Stratton and the City Council declared August 14, 2006 as Charles A. Randall Day.
He was predeceased by his wife Judith in 2000. He is the devoted father of Charles D. (Christine) Randall of Springfield, MA, Thomas F. (Ruthann) Randall of Schenectady, Heidi Parks (Frank Lowe) and Lonna Ravida (Scott Bevins) of Amsterdam; Grandfather of Andrew, Chariissa, Jessica, Brooke, Bryan, Steven and Gabriella, Brittany, Jeffery, Christopher, Scott and Rachel. Great grandfather of Calysa. Companion of Elaine Newburger. Brother of Robert Randall of New Jersey and the late Carolyn Randall.
Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 8:30 at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave) then to St. Paul the Apostle Church at 9:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Friday from 5 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd.
