GUILDERLAND – Charles W. Peplowski, Sr., 90, passed away on Monday, June 28, 2010 at his daughter's home, surrounded by his loving family.
Charles was born on May 5, 1920 in Albany and was the son of the late Alexander and Bernice (Zaloga) Peplowski. He served in the US Army during WWII. He worked as a meat packer for Tobin Meat Packing Co. in Colonie for over 20 years before their closing. Then in 1981 he went to work at SUNY Albany until his retirement in 1995. He enjoyed golfing, going for rides in the car and spending time with his family.
Charles is survived by his loving children, Deborah (Chris) Urban, Suzanne (John Govel) Peplowski, and Charles W. (Barbara) Peplowski, Jr.; his cherished grandchildren who gave him so much of their love and support, Ed Person, Christopher, Michael, Rebecca, and Chelsea Urban, and Alora, Alecia and Chase Peplowski; his great-grandson, Thomas Urban; his sister, Alice (George) Houser; his brothers, Edward Peplowski and Joseph (Betty) Peplowski and many nieces and nephews. He was a special grandpa to Gretchen, Tyler, Brittany, and Josh. He was predeceased by his wife, Louise T. (Caruso) Peplowski; his brothers, Zigmund, Stanley, Anthony, and Walter Peplowski and his sister, Sophie Calka.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
A graveside committal service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands.
