ALBANY - Charles W. Starker, 78, passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany.
Charles was born on December 9, 1933 in Albany and was the son of the late John and Lillian (Patterson) Starker. He served in the US Army during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955, attaining the rank of Corporal. He was a warehouse foreman for US Plywood/Champion International Paper in Albany until its closing; he then worked as a maintenance manager for Otto Oldsmobile until retiring. He was also a master cabinet maker for over 50 years.
Charles is survived by his children, Patricia (Brian) Loucks of Kinderhook, Russell (Virginia) Starker of West Point, Utah, and Gregory (Annette) Starker of Duanesburg; his grandchildren, Christopher and Andrew Loucks, Krista Starker and Nicolette (Tyvan) Albertson, and Samantha and Justin Starker; his great grandson, Colt Albertson; his sisters, Nancy Martin of Texas and Charla (Martin) Horan of Altamont; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
