Schenectady – Charles "Charlie" Wildzunas, Sr. passed away January 4, 2014 at the age of 94. Charlie was born in Albany on February 6, 1919 to the late Peter and Vladaslava (Kveder) Wildzunas.
Formerly of Colonie, Charlie resided with his son and daughter-in-law in Schenectady before his passing. Charlie proudly served our country during WWII in The United States Navy, and was stationed in Saipan. Charlie started his career in transportation at United Traction Company driving trolleys and later joined CDTA where he worked as a bus driver, before retiring in 1983 as a supervisor. Charlie retired so he could care for his beloved wife Doris, who suffered from MS. Doris. Charlie and Doris were married on March 30, 1940 and were together until her death in 1997.
Charlie is survived by his loving children; Edward (Karen Zalewski-Wildzunas) Wildzunas of Schenectady, Richard (Andrea) Wildzunas of North Carolina, Charles Jr. (Nancy) Wildzunas of The Villages, Florida and Carol Lynch of The Villages, Florida. Charlie is also survived by 8 grandchildren including; Krystel Laramee, Katie Zalewski, and Matthew Zalewski. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Charlie will be celebrated at St. Luke's Church on Friday January 10th at 9:00 a.m. Calling hours for Charlie will be Thursday January 9th from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd.
