TROY-Charles Gordon Williman, 83, died on March 28, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Delmar. Charles was born December 19, 1929 in Albany, NY; he was the son of the late Gordon and Hazel Williman of Delmar, NY. He attended Bethlehem Central Senior High School. He was an honorably discharged army veteran who served in Germany during the Korean conflict.
He was initially employed by a private Rensselaer bus company as a long distance driver, but spent the bulk of his career as a driver for the State University of New York at Albany. He resided in Troy, New York and after retiring spent his winters in Hollywood, Florida. He loved jazz music and enjoyed attending church dinners, concerts and plays in the area. He was also an avid motorcyclist.
Charles is survived by his loving sisters, Inez Polek of Albany, Ellen Oldreik of Delmar, and Hilda Groesbeck also of Delmar. He is also survived by his nephews, Edward Meduna of East Berne, Richard Oldreik of West Deptford, New Jersey and Wayne Groesbeck of Michigan, and nieces Vicki Silverbach of Sacramento, California and Velda Model of Wenham, Massachusetts and many great nephews and nieces.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM at Bethlehem Cemetery, Delmar.
