Charlotte Belle Mcelroy
May 7, 1938 — April 28, 2022
Albany - Charlotte Belle McElroy, 83, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2022 after a short illness, at St. Peter's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with her loving family by her side.
Charlotte was born in Albany, NY, she was the daughter of the late Stuart and Helen Wiegand. Charlotte was the devoted wife to the late Daniel E. McElroy.
Charlotte retired from the NYS Office of Children and Family Services after her career of over 20 years.
Charlotte loved cooking huge meals and Crocheting blankets for her family and friends. She was an avid reader, who loved to read all types of books. In recent years she used her Kindle, and treasured the many books that she had collected over the years.
Charlotte loved being outside with her plants and flowers. She especially loved the Normanskill Creek, which held many happy childhood memories.
Charlotte is survived by her children: Robert C. (Leah), Deborah L., David P. (Kathy), Sandra L. (Richard), Danielle L. and Michelle M.; her grandchildren: Jennifer, Kurt, Sheena, Evan (Allie), Catie (Chris), Kevin Michael, Courtney, Dylan, Dakota, Colton, Skyler, Nicholas and Max. As well as many great grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren on the way and several cousins.
Interment will in Graceland Cemetery, Delaware Ave., Albany, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society www.mohawkhumane.org
