Charlotte C. Sala, 76, of Loudonville, died peacefully at St. Peter's Hospital Wednesday, January 27, 2021 after a brief illness.
Born in Cohoes, NY, Charlotte was the daughter of the late Rene and Laurette (Chouinard) Martel. She married her high school sweetheart, Francis "Frank" Sala, on April 18, 1965, and the two shared 48 happy years together. Upon graduation from Keveny Memorial Academy, Charlotte began her 37-year career working for the State of New York. After retiring from the Department of Mental Health, she enjoyed quilting, baking, playing cards with friends, and dining out with her lunch bunch. She was also a dedicated fan at her grandchildren's sporting events. Her happiest times were those spent with family, whether it was for big celebrations or rowdy game nights. All who knew her would agree that she was one of the kindest people they had ever met, and she will be sorely missed.
Charlotte is survived by her sons, Robert (Shanon), Matthew (Deni), and Stephen (Danielle); her grandchildren, Robert, Daniel (Larissa), Stephanie, Slade, Annabelle, and Genevieve; her great-grandson, Lincoln; her siblings, Linda (John) Doemel and Normand Martel. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Charlotte is predeceased by her beloved husband, Francis Sala, her sisters, Jeanne St. Denis and Shirley Angelo, and her brother-in-law Louis Angelo.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Charlotte will be celebrated on May 11, 2021 at St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Rd, Latham at 10:00 am. Interment will immediately follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 40 Middletown Rd, Waterford.
