Charlotte Smith

Scotia- Charlotte A. Smith, 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 31, 2005, surrounded by her loving family, at Ellis Center for Long Term Care. Born in Leesville, LA, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Ola Jeane. Charlotte was active in all outdoor activities and especially enjoyed golfing, camping, fishing, and canoeing. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Charlotte had worked for the Carl Company, Woolworths, and volunteered her time at Faith United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Jolly Swingers Golf League, a senior bowling league and a family bowling league. She is predeceased by her son Michael Smith. The family wishes to express its thanks and appreciation to the staff at the Ellis Center for their dedicated and caring work on mom's behalf.
Charlotte is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years Albert R. (Bud) Smith, her loving children; sons, Charles Smith (Caryl) and James Smith (Dale), daughter Diane Krawiecki (Edward F.) and daughter-in-law Carol Smith. She is the grandmother of Todd Smith (Kristen), Lisa DeLorenzo (Matt), Tim Smith, Michael Smith, Peter Smith, Sean Smith, Amy Smith, Brian Krawiecki (Michelle) and Kevin Krawiecki and great-grandmother of Kramer and Abigail Smith and Sarah and Drew DeLorenzo and Marcus Smith. Charlotte is also survived by three brothers, Bill Jeane (Betty), Ray Jeane (Gerri) and Gary Jeane (JoAnn) and two sisters, Nelva Sauls (Lane) and Gloreita Lester (Jack), and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1:00 PM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Park View Cemetery, Schenectady. At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ellis Hospital Foundation C/O Ellis Center for Long Term Care, 1101 Knott St., Schenectady, NY 12308 in memory of Charlotte A. Smith.
