ALBANY - Cheryl C DiMura-DeMase, 76, of Albany, New York, passed away in the early morning on January 14, 2025. Born on September 2, 1948, Cheryl was the daughter of the late Ruth and Frank DiMura.
Cheryl was a proud graduate of Philip Schuyler High School’s Class of 1967.
After retiring from Bell Atlantic, she spent 20 years working for Greenman and Petersen, Inc. (GPI).
Cheryl had a passion for traveling, dancing, taking motorcycle rides and gambling at the casino. She enjoyed being an officer of the Polish American Citizen’s Club’s Women’s Auxillary.
Above all, she was deeply devoted to her family whom she cherished and adored. Her warmth, generosity, and love made her the center of every party.
Cheryl is survived by her partner of over 30 years, Nicola 'Nick' Valente; daughters, Jennifer DeMase-Poillon and Nicole DeMase; son, David DeMase; granddaughter; Julia Poillon, grandsons; Nicholas Dushane and Justin McAdoo; brother, Frank DiMura; sisterly cousin, Phyllis Lounello; lifelong friends, Colleen Abbott and Liz Kenneally; and many more cousins, friends, and loved ones.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Newcomer Cremations & Funerals, at 343 New Karner Road in Colonie on Sunday, January 19, 2025 from 12:00PM to 3:00PM. A short service will follow at the funeral home at 3:00 PM. A celebration of life will begin at 5pm at the Polish American Citizen’s Club at 110 Commerce St. Albany NY. All friends and family are welcome to join. In lieu of flowers, donations in Cheryl’s memory may be made to the Albany Humane Society and/or St Jude’s Children Hospital.
