GUILDERLAND, NY – Cheryl L. Konig, 52, of Guilderland, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 3, 2009. She was born in Greenport, Long Island and was raised in Southhold, Long Island. Cheryl graduated in 1980 from St. Joseph's College in North Windham, ME with a Bachelor's of Science degree. She then moved to Guilderland where she has resided for twenty years. Cheryl was a registered nurse who enjoyed taking care of the elderly. She loved gardening and bird watching. Cheryl was an active volunteer with Whisker's Animal Benevolent League. She is the beloved daughter of Clarence and Dorothyann Jester. She is the devoted wife of Fred Konig and the cherished mother of Ashley and William Konig. Cheryl is the loving sister of Diane Jester. Also surviving are her sisters-in-law, Betsy (Eric) Reed and Cassandra Langdon.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Christ the King, Guilderland. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the church. The parish family of Christ the King will gather on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. at the church for a service of prayer and remembrance. All are welcome. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Guilderland. Memorial contributions may be made to Whisker's Animal Benevolent League, P.O.
