GUILDERLAND – Cheryl L. Biernacki Evola, 48, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2012. She was born in Albany and graduated from Voorheesville High School in 1982. Cheryl graduated with an associate's degree in Travel and Tourism from Herkimer Community College. She was the owner of Empire Travel and then co-owner of Allcare Transportation with her former husband, Michael. She was currently working as assistant manager of Bruegger's in Guilderland. Cheryl was a Girl Scout troop leader for many years and was a member of the Italian American Community Center. She enjoyed traveling. Cheryl was an organizer and loved to be involved with her community. This past summer she organized the reunion for the class of 1981 for Voorheesville High School.
Cheryl is the beloved daughter of Diane (Allegretta) Biernacki and the late Frederick W. Biernacki. She is the loving and devoted mother of Ashley A. Evola, (17) and Michael V. Evola, III (8). She is the cherished sister of Michael (Shara) Biernacki and Jason (Dawn) Biernacki. Cheryl is the adored aunt of Emily and Adam Biernacki. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and her former husband, Michael V. Evola, Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Matthew's Church, Voorheesville. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont. At the request of the family and in lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated to Ashley and Michael Evola at any local Citizens Bank branch for their continued education.
