Chester R. Stancil , 87, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2013 at Ellis Hospital with his family by his side.
He was born in Mt. Gilead, N.C. to the late Joseph and Emma (Livingston) Stancil. He retired from the Local #190, Albany, after 30 years of service. He retired from the Local #190, Albany, after 30 years of service.
He was a versatile and reliable home improvement specialist ready to help friends and family at all times. Chester loved gardening, was an ardent golf viewer and enjoyed spending time with his loving family.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Mildred L. Stancil.
Chester is survived by his children, Rodney C. (Vera) Stancil and Cheryl J. Rankine.He is the brother of Willis (Nancy) Stancil. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Galen "Jai", Cerise, Jody and the beloved great grandfather of Matthew, Ryan, Blaise, Millie and Mackenzie; and nieces, nephews, Janice, Willis Jr., Teresa, Reginald and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on-Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 12:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New karner Rd., Colonie. A calling hour will be precede the service from 11:00 to 12:00 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Evergreen Memorial Park, Schenectady.
