Chonda Laverne Moore

November 9, 1957 — February 8, 2021

Chonda Laverne Moore gained her wings on Monday, February 8, 2021. Chonda was born on November 9, 1957 in Albany, New York. She was one of eight children to the late Charles Henry Moore and Marjorie Barlow-Moore.

Chonda graduated high school in 1975 from Saint Anne's parochial school at the top of her class.
She later attended Buffalo State University and maintained an 4.0 average where she further excelled in Liberal arts.

Chonda's vision and artistic ability to re-create life was astounding. Her art work was displayed at the
Arbor Hill Community Center, NAACP Summer Program, The Boys Club of Albany and the Washington Armory among many other places throughout the city. In addition, she then dedicated her time to her gifts of poetry and writing in one the many journals that she kept. She enjoyed dancing, telling stories, singing gospel and praising the Lord. She was a sweet, kind and humble individual who always carried herself with dignity and selflessness. She was genuinely loved by all who crossed her path.

Most importantly, she had a strong relationship with the Lord, whom she loved with all her heart and soul. Chonda found joy in making others laugh, dancing and telling stories to her siblings, nieces and nephews. Chonda was loved by her family and will be forever remembered by her unique personality, her warm smile, her ethereal spirit and heart of gold.

Chonda leaves behind to cherish many memories, Charlotte Mcknight, Linda Moore, Charles (Tracey)Moore, Felicia Moore, Marcia (Victorious) Dorsey, Angela Moore and Osiris El Kashief Moore.

She was predeceased by her sister Ola Mae Moore-McLean., her maternal grandparents Frank and Mattie Barlow and her paternal grandparents Arthur and Ola Mae Moore. Also, she leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
