COLONIE- Christine Keyishian, 91, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2016.
Christine was born on April 23, 1924 in Marseilles, France to the late Karekin and Vartuhi Zacarian.
Sensing that a war was coming, her father moved the family to Buenos Aires, Argentina where she grew up until she came to the United States to visit her Aunt in Watervliet, New York. She had a few suitors but chose her husband Archie over them. She was the force behind him opening their bakery in 1962, Archie's Bake Shop, and they remained together for ever after. They traveled to Argentina, France and loved Amish country in Pennsylvania. They were both lifelong members of VFW Post 8692. When Archie died in 2011, she lost her best friend and we could feel her loss. She missed him every day.
She is survived by her son, Michael George Keyishian (Eve Rudman) and Rose Marie K. Warman (Anne Brown), her grandson Jonathan Warman, Briana Warman and her wonderful great-granddaughter, Alina. We are grateful to brother-in-law Harry Keyishian, Cousin Diane Barnett and her family, and our neighbor Bill Marquart for being there for our family. Thanks to Brookdale for their support.
