Christine M. O'Connell

ALBANY – Christine M. O'Connell, 63, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2011 at St. Peter's Hospital.
Christine was born on January 25, 1948 in Albany and was the daughter of the late John M. and Margaret C. (McCauley) O'Connell Jr. She was a graduate of Mercy High School and Hudson Valley Community College. Christine worked as a dental hygienist, sales rep and an interior designer. She enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing, beading and jewelry making with a passion for creativity and design. Despite being physically limited by her illness, her strong perseverance and independent spirit allowed her to pursue these passions.
Christine is survived by her loving brothers, John (Susan) O'Connell III of Albany and Daniel (Catherine) O'Connell of Berne; her loving sisters, Joan O'Connell and Jean Griner, both of Albany; and her aunt and uncle, John and Elizabeth McCauley of Canandaigua and formerly of Schenectady. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at St. Peter's Hospital for their compassionate care, especially the Intensive Care Unit.
A funeral service will be 7:00 p.m. Friday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family at Calvary Cemetery in Glenmont.
