Christopher Robert Gehrer

Christopher Robert Gehrer, 20, of Slingerlands, NY passed suddenly Saturday, January 7th, 2017. Born in Albany, NY, Chris grew up in Bethlehem and graduated from Bethlehem Central High School in 2014.

He was currently in his junior year at SUNY Plattsburgh, studying Business and Supply Chain Management. Chris had a passion for the outdoors and spent every winter snowboarding with his father and friends. He enjoyed his time playing football with Bethlehem Pop Warner and baseball with Tri-Village Little League and Bethlehem Babe Ruth. He also had a great sense of humor, bringing laughter to all his friends and family. With his witty personality, he hosted his high school's homecoming pep rally and aimed to make sure it was a memorable time for all. Most of all, Chris will be remembered for his warm smile, conversational gifts, and distinctive voice.

Chris is survived by his parents Robert E. and Teresa M. Gehrer of Slingerlands, NY, his older sister Allison Gehrer, his maternal grandparents Kenneth and Nancy Patterson of Somers, NY, his paternal grandparents Robert and Mary Ellen Gehrer of Wimauma, FL, his Aunts and Uncles: Diane Gehrer (Peter) of Phoenicia, NY, Susan Acevedo of River View, FL, Daniel Patterson (Dianna) of Boxford, MA, Nancy Lynch (Richard) of River Edge, NJ, Kristine Weissleder (Adam) of Katonah, NY and Jim Goulden of Orlando, FL. He also leaves behind many cousins that he loved spending time with during annual vacations in Cape May, NJ. He is predeceased by his beloved Aunt, Caroline Goulden of Orlando, FL. He will also be missed by his spunky dog, Maddie and many treasured friends.

Calling hours will be from 5-8 pm on Friday, January 13th, 2017 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie, NY 12205. At the request of the family, services and interment will be private.
