GUILDERLAND - Christopher John Miller, born October 27, 1976, died Sunday, June 25, 2023, at the age of 46, surrounded by family, following a courageous eight-month battle with cancer.
Chris was the type of person who lit up a room with just his presence. His laugh and smile were contagious, and his fun-loving attitude was ever present, especially when making us watch his favorite movies on repeat.
Chris graduated from Guilderland High School in 1998 and became a participant at the Center for Disability Services where he was employed for over ten years. Chris could easily be found dancing with his housemates, Matt, Ted and Dan, whether it be at the Elks club or in their living room. Chris was an avid movie collector, loved to party and travel. Chris participated in Special Olympic swimming, winning many medals.
Chris is survived by his mother and father, Doug and Paula Miller; his sisters, Stacey (Chadd) Ryan, and Katie (Henry) Rice; he was the proud Unca of Lilly, Benjamin, Bruce, Maddox, and Maggie. He was predeceased by both his maternal and paternal grandparents, and several aunts, uncles, and niece.
A special thank you to the nurses at the Chemo unit at St. Peters Hospital and to The Community Hospice, and staff at the Center for Disability Service.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023, from 2 to 6 p.m. at New Comer Cremation's & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. Funeral and graveside services will be private per family request. The family invites anyone to dress up as their favorite movie character to pay homage to Chris.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to designate donations to the Center for Disability Services.
