LATHAM – Christos J. Saffaras, 85, formerly of Troy, passed away on Thursday November 18, 2010 at Van Rensselaer Manor after a brief illness.
He was born in Lowell, MA and was the son of the late John and Sophie Saffaras. Chris served in the US Navy during WWII. He was the former owner of All Aluminum Manufacturing in Green Island.
He is the father of Christopher (Debbie) Saffaras, Sherrill (Matt) Bilsky, Debra (Massimo) Trombini, William Saffaras, Linda Saffaras and the late Karen Cantin. Chris is the brother of Ann Harris. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend graveside services with military honors at Saratoga National VA Cemetery in Schuylerville on Monday afternoon at 1:00.
