Albany – Claire A. Hallenbeck, 81, passed away Tuesday November 19, 2013 at The Community Hospice Inn surrounded by her loving family. Born in Burlington, VT she is the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Danis.
Claire loved to spend August at Saratoga Race Course, and was also a diehard Boston Red Sox fan. She loved spending time with her family especially basking in the joy of being with her grandchildren. Claire was blessed to be cared for at home for 27 years after having a stroke in 1986, leaving her paralyzed. Care was given by her late husband William, daughters Lynne and Michelle, along with her granddaughters, nieces, and family. Because of the wonderful love and care given to her, she was still able to live life to the fullest.
Claire was predeceased by her beloved husband William E. Hallenbeck Sr. in 2006. She is survived by her children; William Jr. (Keily) Hallenbeck, Lynne Hallenbeck, James (Kathleen) Hallenbeck, Matthew (Bonnie) Hallenbeck, and Michelle (Mark) Little. Claire is also survived by her cherished 16 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her adored granddaughter Brianna Hallenbeck, and her siblings; Lucian, Jeanne, and Stella.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Claire on Saturday November 23rd at 9 a.m. at Mater Christi Church. Calling hours will be Friday November 22nd from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Interment will be at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands NY.
