SCOTIA – Claire M. Dunigan, 66, passed away on Wednesday, April 07, 2010 after a long illness. She was born in Albany and lived in Albany for most of her life. Claire worked for the Times Union, formerly Capital Newspaper for 33 years, retiring in 2001. She is the beloved daughter of Angela G. Ciccia Dunigan Halpin and the late John J. Dunigan. Claire is the devoted sister of Rosie (Edward) Kelly, John (Ginny) Dunigan, Mickey (Barbara) Dunigan, Effie Parisi, Edward Dunigan, Richard Dunigan and Angela (James Russell) Dunigan. Also surviving are nine nieces and nephews and twelve great-nieces and great-nephews. Claire's family would like to thank the staff of Ellis Hospital's 6th floor C-wing and especially their Pastoral Care staff.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 9:00 am. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd., Loudonville, NY 12211 in memory of Claire M. Dunigan.
