Clifton Park- Claire (Racht) Relyea, 80, passed away peacefully after a long illness, on Saturday, January 10th, 2015 at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born Claire Y. Larmour, of Schenectady, she graduated from Nott Terrace High School. She worked at various businesses as an Accountant/Bookkeeper and was the former owner of Roc's Tavern in Scotia. She is a life member of the VFW and she enjoyed gambling. While her children were young she loved having the neighborhood children at the house for softball games, swimming and planning picnics for us all. She enjoyed cooking, baking and cake decorating.
Claire is predeceased by her former husband, Thomas A. Racht Sr. who passed in 1975, her beloved husband Robert L. Relyea who passed in 2014, three brothers Richard Larmour, Gerald Larmour and Ronald Larmour and her son Thomas A. Racht Jr. who passed in 2003.
Claire is survived by a sister Dorothy (Larmour) Bunnell of Michigan; daughter, Debra (Racht) Curran (Daniel) of Ballston Lake; son Timothy Racht (Loreen) of Selkirk; six grandchildren Danielle Manning; Brian Curran (Tara), Jason Racht, Diana Racht, Dominic Racht and Vanessa Racht; and one great grandchild James Manning. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Claire's memory to Hospice of Saratoga.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, January 14th 2015 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd, Albany NY, 12205 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. A memorial service will follow the calling hours starting at 7pm. Interment will be held the following day, Thursday, January 15th, at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at 9:00am.
