Clara A. Van Deusen, passed away unexpectedly on December 8, 2014 at Albany Memorial Hospital.
Clara was born in Albany, the daughter of the late Dominick Attili and Theresa (Mandinino) Attili.
She had several responsible jobs in the Albany area, excelling in all of them.
She was loved by her husband, her family, Cimba, goddaughters, Patty (Blaauboer) Keene and Catherine (Class) Houston and all of her friends.
Her love of life was contagious, her heart was made of gold and she shared it with all who knew her. She was renowned for her quick wit and sense of humor.
In addition to her parents, Clara was predeceased by her surrogate parents, Irma (Mandinino) Liuzzi and Dominic F. Liuzzi and her brother, Michael Thomas Attili.
Clara is survived by her husband of over 56 years, Robert W. Van Deusen, her sisters, Irma T. (Randall E.) Rapp-Cross and Helen A. (Andrew W.) Novak. She is also survived by her niece Theresa A. (Howard N.) Silverman, her nephew Scott D. Rapp; her grand nephews Justin Evan Silverman, Eric Jay Silverman and Dominic Michael Rapp.
In lieu of flowers memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in Clara's memory.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 15, 2014 at 10:30 am at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 609 Central Ave. at Colby St. Albany, NY.
Calling hours will be private for the family. Interment will follow the Mass in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.
