Clara M. Ferrarese

April 8, 1938 — February 25, 2016

Clara M. Ferrarese, 77, passed away at Ellis Hospital on Thursday, February 25, 2016 after a courageous battle with heart disease.

Born in Albany, NY she was the daughter of the late Guiseppe and Adalgisa Di Cioccio.

Clara was a senior stenographer and worked for the Department of Environmental Conservation in Albany and retired in 1990.

She was greatly involved with the Italian American Community Center and the Italian Heritage Society.

She enjoyed playing skipbo with her friends weekly.

Clara loved cooking, baking, going to the casino with her late husband Mario, going to the senior center with her friends as well as spending time with her seven grandchildren.

Along with her parents, Clara was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Mario Ferrarese, her brothers, Guido, Andrew and Valentino Di Cioccio.

She is survived by her children Rina (Joseph) D'Aurizio of Rotterdam and Dino (Mary Anne) Ferrarese of Latham; grandchildren Joseph, Andrew and Marisa D'Aurizio, and Gabriella, Analisa, Milaena and Dino Ferrarese, her sister Catherine Saglinbeni as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff and Dr. Nawab on the cardiac unit at Ellis Hospital for the great care and compassion given to Clara and her family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 10:00 am at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, 1 Maria Drive, Loudonville. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 3:00 to 8:00 pm at the church. Entombment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association - Albany 445 New Karner Rd. Albany, NY 12205 in Clara's name.
