Jablonoswki, Clare
Albany, NY
Clare joined the angels and saints on June 2, 2009. Clare will always be remembered for her quick wit, generosity and ability to view every situation and interaction in a positive light. She saw the good in everyone and had a joke for every occasion. She loved children, and watching them learn and grow. Generous and selfless, Clare had the rare gift of knowing and sharing unconditional love.
Clare was the first born child of Helena Rubaszewicz and Leon Kowalski and was the devoted wife of (Anthony) Tony Jablonowski. She came to Albany in the early '60s when her husband Tony, an ironworker, came to Albany to work on the Empire State Plaza. She was active in St. Casmir's and St. George's churches and taught catechism for many years. After Tony passed, Clare moved to St. Sophia's apartments in Albany, and then she enjoyed three years at Heartwood Terrace Assisted Living Facility in Troy. Clare loved Heartwood and all of her wonderful friends there. She moved to the Eddy Heritage House Nursing Center in Troy for the last year of her life, where she received excellent care.
She is survived by her daughter Maryann Jablonowski and son in law Reg Foster, dear companion Carl Owings, sister Laura Terrell of North Branford, CT, brother Gene Kowalski of South Orange, NJ, many nieces and nephews, including Cynthia Deming and Phil Czekala of Connecticut, Karen Jabonaski of Mayfield, California, Bill and Butch Jabonaski, Anne Volmer and Steve Jabonaski and Dan Jablonowski all of Albany. In addition to her husband, Tony, Clare was predeceased by her brothers: Carl, Henry and Leon Kowalski and sister Helena Meloy.
