Clarence Bamford

June 4, 1957 — September 19, 2015

Clarence Bamford, 58, of Ballston Spa passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. He faced his battle with pancreatic cancer courageously, facing each day with a positive attitude.

Clarence was born in Sudbury, Ontario, the son of Clarence and Phyllis Bamford, living most of his life in upstate New York. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Hope, his sons Joshua of Jacksonville, Florida and Justin of Ballston Spa and his daughter and son-in-law Kristin and Nicholas Ackerman also of Ballston Spa. Clarence is also survived by his only granddaughter Emma Ackerman , his sister and brother-in-law Mary and William Kelley of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, his sister Lynda Swannie of Newport Beach, California and his brother and sister-in-law Timothy and Gloria Cull of Porters Lake, Nova Scotia. He held a special fondness for his cousin, Janet Benn and her children, Elana, Monica and Zach of Atlanta, Georgia and his aunt who raised him, Annamay Sauerwein of Coeur d'Alene.

Clarence worked as a conductor for the Delaware and Hudson Railroad for 39 years. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and had a passion for traveling the world. He especially enjoyed trips to Alaska, riding elephants in Thailand, hot-air ballooning in Egypt and spending time on the beaches of Cancun and Hawaii. Most important in his life was the time he spent with his granddaughter, the love of his life and his loving family.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. John Mongan and his staff for their compassionate care.

A celebration of Clarence's life will be held on Saturday, September 26th at the family home on Skylark Drive in Ballston Spa from 4-7. Food and beverages will be provided.
