Albany – Claude P. Hardy, 70, passed away Saturday November 15, 2008 at the Stratton V A Medical Center.
Claude was born in Watertown, NY a son to the late Claude and Margaret Hardy, Sr. Claude proudly served in the Marine Corps until 1964 when he became a Disabled American Veteran. He was an avid bowler at Redwood Lanes who enjoyed fishing and going to the Colonie Senior Citizens group but, his greatest joy came from going to his grandson's (Dylan) baseball games. Claude earned his Associate in Science Degree from Regent's College (now Excelsior) in 1978.
He is survived by, Lois, his wife of 49 years. Claude and Lois were married December 20, 1958 at Paris Island, SC. He is also survived by his children; Patrick W. (Joanne), Annette M., Margaret M. and Brenda L. Hardy, his grandchildren; Bobbi Jo, Robert, Stephen, Elizabeth, Alexander and Dylan, four great-grandchildren, a brother James Hardy, a sister-in-law Sandra Hardy and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held 7:00pm Wednesday at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155 south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will precede the service from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the funeral home. A private graveside service with full military honors will be held at 10:00am (this may change to 1:00pm as we have family coming in from out of town) Thursday at Saratoga National Cemetery.
