Claude Raymond Rankey, Iii

COLONIE- Claude "Bud" Raymond Rankey III, age 71, passed away suddenly surrounded by his loving family on November 13, 2021.

Born, raised and educated in Colonie he was the son of the late Claude Raymond Jr. and Eileen Rankey. Predeceased by his dear sister Cheri Rankey Weber.

A lifelong resident of Colonie, Bud was called to duty and Honorably served in the Navy during the Vietnam War after which he returned to his roots in Colonie to begin a career with Price Chopper(Golub Corp), serving as a Butcher/Manager until his retirement in 2009.

Bud, a devout family man, was the strong cornerstone of the Rankey household. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather(Pa). In his spare time Bud enjoyed being an avid hunter and outdoorsman, watching his teams play(Yankees and Cowboys), as well as spending his time at the Casino and could often be found with his lucky Nickel and a fresh scratch off.

Bud is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Ann Rankey (Quinlan); his beloved daughters: Christina (Chad), Lauren (Heather), Nicole (Joshua); siblings: Amazing sisters Claudia Constantino (Angelo), Catherine Hosgood (Robert), Colleen; Cherished grandchildren: Charlie and Calum Plonski, Gavin Roman, Stefanie and Isabelle Rousseau; and many loved nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours on Monday November 22, 2021 from 5 to 8 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. All are invited to attend his funeral service at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Interment with full military honors will follow at Memory Gardens, Colonie.
