Albany- Clementina Mesiti, 88, passed away at home on Tuesday, June 06, 2006, surrounded by her family. Born in Italy, she was the daughter of the late Francesco and Elizabeth Augustino. Clementina was the owner and operator of Mme. Pirie's in Albany for 32 years and later went on to work for New York State until her retirement at age 82. She enjoyed her friends, the company of others, gardening, vacationing, traveling and playing cards. Most of all Clementina's biggest joy was her family. She focused her life around her family and always loved to cook gourmet meals for them. Clementina is predeceased by her husband Joseph Mesiti, two sons, Nicholas and Pasquale Mesiti, her brother Joseph Augustino and her sister Rosa Staltari.
Clementina is survived by her five children, Frank Mesiti, Anna Maria Scherer, Rosa Belleville, Mirella Ringwood and Paula Harrington, her 16 grandchildren, her 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 8:00 AM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Then to St. Margaret Mary's Church, Western Ave and Homestead Street, Albany, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:00 AM. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
