GLENMONT- Clifford E. Bowdish, 85, of Glenmont, passed away on Thursday June 30, 2005 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home. He was born in Rochester and was the son of the late Clifford and Frances Butler Bowdish.
He was a 1942 graduate of Union College. Clifford was a decorated Air Force veteran where as a bombardier he flew 25 missions in Africa & Italy during WWII. Cliff worked for Fruehauf Trailer Co before starting McCombs & Bowdish Trailer Sales Company. He later worked for Trailer Mobile Equipment as branch manager and Alco Equipment as Vice President before his retirement in 1986. Clifford enjoyed woodworking, traveling, camping, hunting and fishing.
He was predeceased in 2000 by his beloved wife, Shirley Wendell Bowdish. He is the devoted father of Robin Williams of Altamont, Katrina J. Bowdish of Raymond, ME and Christopher W. Bowdish of Delmar. Grandfather of Matthew, Peter and Rebecca Williams; Tiffany and Christopher Bowdish.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Ft. Edward, NY.
