Albany- Clifford I. Lockwood, 93, passed away peacefully on May 31st 2015. Clifford was the son of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Shafer) Lockwood. Clifford is predeceased by his wife Arlene Lockwood.
Clifford is survived by his siblings; Marjorie Forte and Florence Luby. He is predeceased by his siblings; Frank Lockwood Jr., Shirley Bortle, Laura Romaine and Rosemary Jennings.
Clifford is also survived by his children; Clifford Lockwood Jr., Deborah Kilcher, Stephen R. Lockwood, Karen Coughlin and Joseph Lockwood, his grandchildren; Colby Lockwood, Ryker Lockwood, Paul Kilcher Jr., Jennifer Carpenter, Corrine Coughlin, Lindsey Coughlin and Joshua Coughlin, his great grandchildren; Kayla Lockwood, Brittany Lockwood, Paul Ryan Kilcher Jr., Savannah Carpenter, Kailey Carpenter, Nolan Carpenter, Mackenzie Provencher and Logan Provencher.
He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Clifford was a World War II veteran who served in North Africa, Italy and the Invasion of Southern France and was a life member of the 78th Infantry Division Association.
He was a past commander of the Guilderland VFW Post 5294. Past Albany County Council Commission. Served on several departments of NYS VFW.
Clifford was also a member of many local affiliations including; Military Order of Cooties, Pup Tent 6, American Legion Post 1610, Past Exalted Ruler of the Guilderland Elks, Past State Vice President of the NYS Elks Association and a lifetime member of the Retired Men's Fraternity.
The family would like to thank everyone who helped, prayed and supported Clifford.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 8th 2015 from 11:00am- 12:00pm at New Comer Funeral Home 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral service will follow the callings hours at 12:00pm. Interment and military honors will be held at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at 1:30pm.
