Clinton W “Cookie” McGill passed away on January 16 2025 at Albany Stratton VA Medical Center, Albany, NY. Born October, 11, 1948 in Lebanon, Illinois. Son of Mary Lee Satchel McGill and Thomas James McGill.
Mr. McGill is a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy High School in Newburgh, NY. He served in the Army Vietnam War and received a National Defense Service Medal, a Vietnam Campaign Medal, a Vietnam Service Medal, a Combat Infantryman’s Badge. Clinton was a medic in the Army who had CBR training and followed the code of conduct proudly. He served the Army proudly until his honorable discharge.
Clinton went on to do two Years of College at Orange County Community College, Newburgh, NY. After graduating he worked at United States Military Academy West Point, West Point, NY then retiring from Newburgh Enlarged City School District, Newburgh, NY, working in School Security School District in 2003.
Clinton survived daughter, Malinda McGill, Troy, NY,; sons, Marcus McGill, Schenectady, NY and Steven (Kimberly) Boone, Ali Williams, Albany, NY; granddaughters; Milan McGill, Bella Sheldon, Destiny Nicole Crouch (Andy); grandsons, Jordan Mair, Jaylin Mair, Carmen Murray, Steven Boone, Jr.; siblings; Joyce McGill, Thomas McGill, Jr.
Clinton was predeceased by, his sisters, Myrtle Lee Williams and Dorothy Jean Stuart; brothers, William James Satchel and George McGill; and his wife, Denise Robinson McGill.
Family and Friends are invited to attend a visitation at New Comer Cremations and Funeral at 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, NY, 12189 on Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 11:00am to 1:00pm with a funeral service to begin at 1:00pm.
