ALBANY - Clyde B. Rivenburg, 88, longtime Guilderland resident, entered into eternal rest on April 25, 2009 at the Teresian House, surrounded by his loving family.
Clyde was born on May 27, 1920 in Germantown, NY and was a graduate of Germantown High School and Albany Business College. He was a WWII veteran, a Staff Sergeant with the 147th Engineers, landing during the first wave at Omaha Beach on D Day in 1944. He was a longtime employee of Agway and enjoyed many happy retirement years with his family including delightful summer vacations by the seaside at Ocean Grove, NJ. Clyde and Lillian were longtime members of the McKnownville United Methodist Church in Westmere.
Clyde is survived by his loving wife and soul mate of 62 years, Lillian Rivenburg, a retired RN of Albany. He is survived by his son, Jeffrey (Sandra) Rivenburg of Niskayuna; five grandchildren, Gary (Jody) Rivenburg, AnneMarie (Josh) Sykes, Thorpe Doran, Kimberly Doran and Katy (Keith) Herrington; seven great grandchildren, Nathaniel and Camden Spiewak, Emily and Riley Fredericks, Chance and Charley May Herrington and Rachael Rivenburg. He is the brother in law of Marguerite Varallo, uncle of Robert (Virginia) and Brenda Bareika and great uncle of Robert (Barbara) and William Bareika.

Friends may call on Tuesday April 28, 2009 from 4 to 7 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. A service will be held to celebrate Clyde's life on Wednesday morning at 9:30 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Viewmont Rural Cemetery, Germantown.
