Coleen M. Lawyer

Coleen M. Lawyer, 77, of Schenectady, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 4, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late William and Bonnie Gibson.

Coleen had worked for Childs Hospital, Villa Mary Nursing Home and the Albany Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the North Albany Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She enjoyed gardening, jigsaw puzzles, cooking and crocheting. Coleen's most cherished pasttime was traveling and spending time with her loving family and friends.

She had been married to Rufus Young and the late Edgar Nabors and Dennis Lawyer. Coleen is the beloved mother of Lavinia Tyler, Bonnie (Douglas) Ivey, Elaine Nabors, Paul (Tymesia) Nabors and Johnny (Tracie) Young. She is the stepmother of Rodney Young and dear sister of Lavinia (Arthur) Williams and the late John Wilbur, Emmanuel and William Gibson Jr. Coleen is the grandmother of Dani (George) Bennett, Brianna Nabors, Jordan and Blue Ivey, Samantha Coles and Evan Nabors. Great grandmother of Tiani Nabors, Tamir Ford, and Josiah and Jeremiah Bennett. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday evening at 6:00 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 6 pm at the Funeral Home. Interment will be privately held in Memory's Garden. Memorial Contributions may be made to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses North Albany Congregation, 400 Albany Shaker Rd. Albany, NY 12205.
