Colleen E. Peno, 61, passed from this world on Friday ,October 10, 2008, at her home in Schenectady, NY. She was born on March 7, 1947, in Willsboro, New York, the daughter of Paul & Elizabeth (Carver) Anctil.
Colleen last worked as the Director of Nursing Services at the Saybrook Convalescent Hospital prior to her retirement due to disability in 2002. She enjoyed country craft artisanship, and was able to have various small business endeavors over the years as part of her hobby. Colleen was also a member of the Memorial Hospital Nurses Alumni Association as a 1968 graduate from Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, Albany, NY.
She is survived by her husband Peter A. Peno; her three sons, SMSgt Shawn P. Peno and his wife Joan of Schenectady, NY, Matthew R. Peno and his daughter Mercedes Ryan Peno of Old Saybrook, CT and Michael D. Peno, also of Old Saybrook, CT. Colleen is also survived by her sister Valerie (Anctil) Soule and her husband Otis; her Brother-in-Law and Sister-In-Law Eric and Lucy Royce of St. Albans, VT; and many nephews.
A Service of Christian Burial and internment will be conducted on Friday, October 24, 2008, at 2:00 P.M. at Schenectady Memorial Park, Gifford's Church Road, Rotterdam, NY with Chaplain Susan Koehler-Arsenault, Celebrant.
The family would like to thank the Community Hospice of Schenectady for their compassion and kindness shown to our loved one and request that donations be made to the Hospice in Colleen's name lieu of flowers.
