Concetta Scaringe

Colonie - Concetta (Rella) Scaringe, 94, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Ellis Hospital with her loving family by her side. Concetta was the daughter of the late Gennaro and Colomba Rella, she was born December 7, 1922 in Naples, Italy.

Concetta was a loving mom who raised five children. She was an excellent cook, seamstress and fur finisher who worked for Solomon Furs, New York Furs and Ideal Fur.

Concetta is survived by her children, Salvatore (Pamela), Anthony (Georgia), Carmen (Michelle), Rosemary (Robert) Krosky; daughter-in-law, Susan Scaringe; grandchildren, Tina (Michael) Kaiser, Sherry and Torey Scaringe, Chauntelle Alkinburgh, Theresa Carpenter, Tiffany Albert, Kate Tona, Carmen and Kailin Scaringe, Kelly (Chuck) Ellis, Kristy (Tom) Murphy, Gina (Erik) Rice, Natalie (Darryl) Olsen, Mark Jr. (Jessica), Michael Scaringe; 21 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren and close friends, Carla and Carlo Chizzolin.

Concetta was predeceased by her loving husband, Nunzio, to whom she was married for 61 years; her son, Mark; and several siblings.

The family would like to thank the staff on C1 at Ellis Hospital for their gentle, loving care.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funerals & Cremations - Colonie, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, on May 18, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held during calling hours at 7:00 pm.
