CONEAKA ANDERSON

Coneaka Anderson, affectionately known as "Coco", passed away suddenly at her home on May 20, 2018. Coco was born in Albany, NY to Mattie "Bonnie" Anderson-Everett (Alan) and the late David Jenkins.

Lovingly raised by her grandparents, Mary and Jessie Kornegay, Coco graduated from Bishop Maginn High School and later attended Hudson Valley Community College. She worked at the New York State Department of Tax and Finance for the last 18 years where she was a cherished and loyal friend and employee. Coco served as a Shop Steward for CSEA Tax Local 690 since 2005, where she served members by representing them as a member of the Woman's Committee and also served on the Audit/Budget Committee.

Coco thoroughly enjoyed spending time with friends and family, but most of all prided herself on being a devoted mother to her two children. She was proud of her family and excited for the birth of her first grandchild. Coco will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Coco will be lovingly remembered by a host of loved ones, including her partner, Kevin Parker; her precious children, QuiEssence Price (Rah-Jamel), Koran Parker; her only granddaughter, Rahleyah Carter; her siblings, Tamara Anderson and Charles Pounds, Rayshaun Jenkins; nieces, Shanaya Hughes and Daviette Morris; grandfather, Jessie Kornegay; her aunt, Annie Kornegay; her uncle, Fred Anderson and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and close friends.

Coco was predeceased in death by her maternal grandmother, Mary Kornegay, her paternal grandmother, Betty Jenkins and her father, David Jenkins.

Calling hours will be held on June 1, 2018 at 9:00 am at Metropolitan New Testament Missionary Baptist Church, 105 Second St., Albany with a funeral service to immediately follow at 11:00 am.
