Connie Ruth Kennedy, September 4, 1955—March 19, 2022, Albany, New York


Connie Kennedy, 66, of Albany, NY passed away suddenly on March 19, 2022, at Samaritan Hospital.

Born on September 4, 1955, in Niskayuna, New York. Connie lived a major part of her life in Schenectady, NY. Connie cherished her family and spending time with all of them was one of her greatest joys. Connie was an active member of the Joseph E. Zaloga Post #1520 Auxiliary. Everyone who met Connie soon became a part of her family, she was loved by all and loved them in return.

She is survived by her daughter, Amy (Dan) Concepcion; son, Edward (Jessica) Hughes; her grandchildren Isabella Concepcion, Thomas and Mya Hughes, her mother, Norine (Smith) Nastasi; her brothers: Skip VanDenburg, Gary (Karen) VanDenburg, Chris (Lynn) VanDenburg, and Scott (Paula) VanDenburg; her sister, Gail (Jon) Petrecky, many nieces and nephews, her long-time boyfriend Keith Giles and his daughter Andrea and dear friend Bill Krug.

She is pre-deceased by her brother-in-law Jon Petrecky and her father Bernard VanDenburg.

Connie had some of her best times taking her granddaughters shopping for dresses. No matter where she traveled, her grandson was always assured a baseball. She enjoyed her multiple casino vacations with her mother and sisters-in-laws that were always sure to entertain everyone. She also enjoyed renovating her home with Keith.

Relatives and friends are invited to her attend her calling hours Friday March 25, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. All are invited to attend her funeral service following at 12Noon. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie, NY.
